The Lumineers were started by a couple of Jersey boys, Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion). They tired of the New York music scene and headed to Denver where they added Neyla Pekarek (cello, vocals) to the band. The minimalist sound is classified as folk and simplicity is what the band is indeed aiming for. They suffered some over-saturation especially with their hit, Ho Hey. I’m including a couple of the lesser known, but, in my eyes, better tracks. This is a wonderful rainy afternoon or drive time album and I urge you to pick it up.
