Graham Richardson writes and performs as Last Days. There is a sadness and longing in these Post-Rock tracks. His first album, Sea was released in 2006 as a concept album from which he tells the tale of a man who leaves his family and friends behind to find a new life. To be honest, not everyone will enjoy this work. It’s an imaginary soundtrack and takes some thought to conjur images that put the music in perspective. I’m including one of the more accessible tracks from the album.
The tale is similar to a a Zen Koan I know, and upon first reading it, thought how selfish and uncaring that was. However, eastern thought is different from ours and the Koan (as is its purpose) should be meditated upon with that in mind.
