The Police released Synchronicity in 1983 as their last and most acclaimed work. The album contains many of their most well known and best loved tracks and could be considered the anthem for 80’s music. Producer Hugh Padgham states that each band member recorded their parts of the record in different rooms to better isolate the sound of the instruments as well as for “social” reasons. Their were some altercations among the band during recording which either caused, or was because of the breakup. The band’s sound clearly moves away from the Reggae influences of past releases and Sting’s signature “World Music” sound emerges on this effort. The Police were a simple three piece band with an amazingly big sound. Enjoy this live track that showcases the extremely talented Stewart Copeland on percussion.
