Here are a couple from Harvest. These two tracks were recorded in a barn on Neil Young’s ranch. Instead of having the musicians wear headphones, there were PA speakers mounted so they could hear what was being played. This resulted in a lot of leakage and feedback of the microphones but leaves us with this beautiful raw sound. “Words,” which is mostly a jam session is my favorite track from the album. The spontaneity of a bunch of excellent musicians playing unscripted electric riffs resulting in something this good, is either a stroke of luck or genius. “Alabama” was the track Lynyrd Skynyrd took offense to and wrote “Sweet Home Alabama” in rebuttal.
